En Foco is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 En Foco Artist Fellowship Application, opening on January 21, 2025. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the fellowship, a significant milestone in En Foco’s mission to support and uplift artists of color. To commemorate this decade of impact, En Foco is expanding its eligibility criteria to welcome Digital Media-Based artists, alongside photographers, creating a more inclusive opportunity for innovative visual creators. The En Foco Artist Fellowship Program is a transformative initiative designed to spotlight and nurture the talents of lens-based and media artists across New York State. Through this program, En Foco aims to champion diversity, foster creative growth, and build pathways for underrepresented artists to gain broader recognition and career development.

Awarded Artists Will Receive:
15 Fellowships in total: 10 Fellowships for Photographers and 5 Fellowships for Media-Based Artists, each receiving a $1,500 cash award. Inclusion in a Fall 2025 Group Exhibition, offering a platform to showcase their work to a wider audience. Publication in the 2025 Nueva Luz journal, featuring both print and online editions. Access to exclusive professional development and networking opportunities to help Fellows advance their careers.
Eligibility and Application Details:
Open to Photographers and Media-Based Artists. Applicants must be New York City or New York State residents for at least one year before the application date. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Collaborative projects are welcomed, with one artist designated as the primary applicant. Previous Fellows may reapply after three years. Applications will be accepted beginning January 21, 2025, via Submittable, and the deadline to apply is March 13, 2025, @ 11:5pm. The selected Fellows will be announced in Spring 2025.
To further support applicants, En Foco is offering Doctor’s Hours—one-on-one consultations with En Foco staff to answer questions, provide feedback, and guide applicants through the submission process.
